Through Half of the Elite Eight

Through the tears of pain and the agony of disappointment your admin team is doing its best to try to provide our followers with an informative and entertaining update, but you’ll understand if these updates on the first half of the Elite Eight are tinged with sorrow……and maybe a hint of bitterness. The Boilermakers put up a gallant resistance but were overwhelmed by a better team. Which is something that 71 of our bastards errr, participants seem to have predicted. And although those turkeys err, Arizona was an overwhelming favorite pick, just eleven entries remain in contention for the 2026 EQE March Madness title. And of those just five have those chumps err, Arizona winning it all. Should Duke falter tomorrow, though, those five will be looking very, very good as Duke is pretty much everyone else’s pick for the title.

As for Illinois making it to the Final Four, which they did, if you didn’t happen to be aware, just 14 entries had the Illini getting this far, only one having them advance to the Championship game. That no doubt was key in the big shakeout down to eleven possible winners.

The good news is that 39 entries overall remain alive for a chance to stand on the podium. If you look at the standings in the Status Reports on the menu above you can see your best possible finish and if you navigate to the Possibilities report you can see your odds of winning said finish. And right now the eerily accurately named entry, IGotThis, is leading the way with a 31% chance to win it all and a better than 50/50 chance of finishing in the money. Expect more clarity after the second half of the Elite Eight concludes tomorrow.
